Dr. Zachary K. West attended the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Lipid Summit on June 20, 2026.
The American College of Cardiology / American Heart Association has released it’s 2026 Guidelines on the Management of Dyslipidemia. The Lipid Summit provided an opportunity to review the key updates from the new guidelines and to apply evidence-based recommendations to clinical practice. Topics included the integration of Apolipoprotein B, Lipoprotein (a), PREVENT risk assessment and coronary artery calcium scoring to refine cardiovascular risk assessment as well as the evaluation of the current evidence surrounding nutrition and cardiovascular disease prevention.
The Lipid Summit was led by David Strobl, DO, FNLA and Peter P. Toth, MD, PhD, FAHA, FACC.
