Dr. Zachary K. West of the Ohio Institute of Osteopathic Medicine, LLC and Dr. Ren Boehler and Dr. Shane Boehler of Legend Physical Therapy and Performance have established a patient care collaboration effort aimed at promoting their shared visions of personalized patient care.
Dr. Ren Boehler and Dr. Shane Boehler, both from Tiffin, Ohio, earned their undergraduate degrees from Heidelberg University and their Doctorates of Physical Therapy from Ohio University; the same Ohio University that Dr. West earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. After working in the traditional healthcare environment and experiencing the high caseloads, insurance restrictions and administrative burdens that limit quality patient care, Dr. Ren and Dr. Shane founded Legend Physical Therapy and Performance and now operate as a cash-based physical therapy clinic in Tiffin, Ohio.
Dr. West provides direct primary care (DPC) which is an alternative payment and practice model for primary care services with a focus on putting the personal relationship back into patient care. DPC physicians offer services for a flat monthly rate instead of a traditional fee for service arrangement and work directly with the patient instead of the insurance corporations to offer increased access to care, faster scheduling, more time with an actual physician, and better and more cost effective options for medications, labs, imaging studies, and more.
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) providing osteopathic manipulative medicine and Physical Therapists have historically worked side-by-side in the care of patients. Dr. West firmly believes in supporting the efforts of allied health professionals providing patient care that is outside of the traditional “big healthcare” system.
